North Carolina is know for having some of the best
weather and best golfing in the world. A little less
known fact is that when the sun goes down, Charlotte's
nightlife parties harder and longer that a Tiger Woods
drive. Everything from strip/dance club combos and
drag quees diva spots to mellow hippie-band clubs and
poetry readings make Charlotte one of the most diverse
night time playgrounds there is.

The center of Charlotte's nightlife is the Uptown
District. Nightclubs, college bars, Irish pubs, trendy
cafes and upscale eateries combine to make this the
happening spot. Many of the clubs and bars have dress
codes and even those that don't are often populated by
the well-dressed, so you might want to snazzy up
before heading into this part of town.
In North Davidson, or NoDa for short, the scene is
decidedly different. Here you will find artists,
musicians, poets and other free-spirits entertaining
each other or just partying the night away. NoDa is
also the best spot for some cheap grinds.
In the University District, college bars serve up the
pints and drink specials for students and those
looking to get away from Uptown's wild streak and
NoDa's mellow vibe.
