Besides the best weather in the country, sunny San
Diego has some of the best nightlife that can be found
anywhere.
In downtown's Gaslamp Quarter, the beach life meets
the city with an array of upscale restaurants, bars
and nightclubs. Despite the overall laid-back vibe of
San Diego, clubs in the downtown area do require you
to dress up a bit, so leave the flip-flops at the
beach when heading to this part of town.

San Diego's beach towns are always hopping and along
Pacific Beach's Garnet Avenue there are tons of bars
and clubs to party at. Reggae music, hip-hop clubs,
dive bars and surfer hangouts are in abundance in
Pacific Beach. This is a popular night spot for
college students and those looking for a younger
crowd.
For the hippie bohemian sect, Ocean Beach is the spot
to be. This ultra laid-back beach town has great bars
and live music, scattered along its main drag, Newport
Avenue. Ocean Beach also has a popular Farmer's Market
every Wednesday that brings out lots of artists and
vendors from throughout San Diego.
San Diego's gay district, Hillcrest, has some of the
best dining in the city as well as some popular
karaoke bars and dance clubs.
If you want to avoid the rowdy college crowd or the
trippy hippie scene, head to the beach towns of La
Jolla or Del Mar. These towns have upscale bars and
restaurants that cater to more expensive tastes.
